Downers Grove is a suburban town in Chicago and is roughly 50 miles from the Loop. The roughly 45-minute ride (25 minutes via Express) is a short peaceful romp through middle-income neighborhoods. Commercial lawn care in Downers Grove is a matter easily taken care of by professionals.
The town is close to nature and has its own bustling economy. It is also the national headquarters of several well-known companies — Advocate Health Care and Dover Corporation for example.
It should not be a surprise that this town has its own car dealerships, which include European imports such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Lamborghini, Volkswagen; Japanese brands Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan; as well as U.S. car manufacturers, Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep-Ram, and Ford. It is also the regional center for major U.S. companies such as State Farm and Microsoft.
The place is comically self-deprecating, calling itself a village and is proud that the name is “apostrophe-free since 1873.” This is a minor historical mystery the town does not even bother to advertise. With its head toward the future and the foot firmly in the past, Downers Grove is a place where you want your lawn in place. It understands its place in history and marks it as such.
For visitors, one of the best places to visit is the Alter Brewing Company. Its taproom opened in 2015 and is the centerpiece of a wonderful head of the beer. Friends and family can gather round and have a delicious pint of beer.
For a fun evening on the town, the Tivoli Theatre Downers Grove is a place to start. It is an old place for movies, concerts, and shows, and it is full of history. A whole generation might find this a throwback to the time when people actually went to theaters.
